- Abdominoplasty – this is the procedure generally referred to as a “tummy tuck.” This is a major surgical procedure with anesthesia, usually lasting from two to five hours, and entails the removal of excess fat and skin from the middle and lower abdomen, and the tightening of the muscles in the abdominal wall. This process is frequently performed after pregnancy or for the removal of excess fat and skin (with liposuction) from obese patients.
- Liposuction (Lipoplasty/Suction Lipectomy) – procedures that a generally known as liposuction, this is the removal of excess fat from the abdomen and other areas of the body, and skin tightening including thighs, upper arms, buttocks, and other areas were fat deposition is most common and noticeable.
- Newer Procedures – Ultrasound-Assisted Lipoplasty, the tumescent technique, and the “superwet” technique – these are less invasive procedures than abdominoplasty, and are shown to remove fat just as well with less impact on the patient’s health and well-being. UAL is quite useful in compressing/tightening skin and delivering targeted results for smaller areas of fat deposition; also, these procedures have been shown to periods of faster recovery and less pain that some other major plastic surgical procedures.
