So, what is mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a relatively new non-surgical procedure developed in France that is designed for fat removal and skin tightening and is a body rejuvenation procedure. The procedure is used for overall weight reduction, local or spot fat reduction, cellulite removal, wrinkle removal, scar treatments and skin tightening.
How does mesotherapy work?
Our skilled cosmetic surgeons will perform out-patient procedures at our clinic in Tijuana. The procedure involves the use of local anesthesia or a topical anesthetic at the fat removal site. This relatively pain-free procedure requires the use of small needles to inject medication and vitamins into the mesoderm, or subdermal layer of skin. The medication shrinks fat cells and/or dissolves fatty deposits and connective tissues that trap cellulite. The fat is then excreted normal through the body.
Why is mesotherapy used?
Mesotherapy is used for several reasons including purely for the patient’s own desire for cosmetic treatment. Other reasons include: corrective measures from surgical procedures, spot fat reduction, smoothing out areas of the skin (dimples, divots, general unevenness) after liposuction procedures, scar treatments, and wrinkle elimination caused by normal aging.
Is mesotherapy a repeat procedure?
Yes, it is a periodic treatment needed to develop the correct fat reduction in the treated areas. This procedure is frequently used on the neck, face and upper body. Normally, patients can see the results they want after just a few injections and treatments. This procedure does not require hospitalization; it is performed on site at CosMed Clinic.
How many times will I have to have treatment?
This of course varies with the patient and the desired results; every case is unique in this regard. Generally, most patients begin to see the desired effect in as little as five treatments. But, as the body ages, continued treatments may be warranted. Of course, exercise and a proper diet will assist you in maintaining the desired results obtained from mesotherapy.
